James Dennis Presents Research on Youth, Inequality, and Storytelling at University of Glasgow Workshop
MeLCi Lab member James Dennis was an invited speaker at the workshop Narratives, Stories and Listening for Public Policy, held at the University of Glasgow on 9–10 October 2025. The event brought together scholars from social policy, political studies, and media and communications to explore how storytelling and narrative practices can support more responsive and inclusive public policy.
In his invited presentation, How Young People who Experience Inequality Find Relatable Narratives on Social Media: The Role of Lived Experience and Personalised Storytelling, Dennis examined how young people navigate digital platforms in search of voices that reflect their own experiences.
The workshop was co-hosted by Professor Ariadne Vromen and Clementine Hill O’Connor, with support from the University of Glasgow’s School of Social and Political Sciences.
