Selma Pereira Exhibits Hands AR at Media and Material Literacy in Extended Reality Conference

Selma Pereira, member of the MeLCi Lab, is presenting her artwork Hands AR at the exhibition held within the Media and Material Literacy in Extended Reality conference, taking place at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon, from 19 to 21 November 2025. The event brings together artists and scholars to explore media and material literacies in contemporary artistic and technological practices.

The artwork is grounded in the theoretical framework developed in Selma Pereira’s paper “From artisanal traditions to the digital experience: reimagining traditions through artistic creation and immersive technologies,” published in the Journal of Science and Technology of the Arts.
