MeLCi Lab Member to Lead Workshop at ECREA Summer School 2024

Mariana Scalabrin Müller, a post-doctoral researcher from the YouNDigital project and a MeLCi Lab member, will lead a workshop on semi-structured online interviews at the ECREA Summer School 2024, held at Roskilde University in Denmark from August 5th to 11th. Based on YouNDigital’s extensive fieldwork, this workshop aims to equip participants with qualitative methodologies for digital research. This methodological workshop will focus on strategies for applying online semi-structured interviews to capture audiences in-depth and their multiplicities. Discussing media consumption is complex and often unconscious, requiring a framework of codes, signs, and language that extends beyond words. Mariana will present strategies to create a relaxed, dynamic, and participatory environment. The workshop will cover the methodological framework, main objectives, multimedia exercises included in the script, and practical challenges of conducting online interviews
