MeLCiLab Member Receives Funding for Two Innovative Research Projects
We are excited to announce that Ana Oliveira, a member of our lab, has been awarded funding for two groundbreaking research projects set to begin in January.
The first project, NewsArcade@Classroom, is part of the Creative Europe initiative and is coordinated by DIAS Media Group Ltd (Cyprus). This project aims to harness the potential of gamification to address the needs of media and information literacy education specifically. The team will develop new educational formats for educators to implement with students aged 12-25, providing interactive and immersive learning experiences designed to engage students in critical thinking, digital literacy, and media analysis.
In addition, she will lead her first project as Principal Investigator: STORYline: Exploring Youth Citizenship through Intergenerational Approaches and Digital Narratives. This 18-month exploratory project seeks to advance scholarship on intergenerational and youth citizenship. The research will explore how intergenerational relationships influence young people’s experiences and perceptions of citizenship and the impact of digital media on these narratives. The project aims to uncover how these intergenerational dynamics shape youths’ citizenship experiences.
We are proud of this achievement and look forward to seeing the impact of these innovative projects!
