Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2024: MeLCi Lab Initiatives

During the Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week 2024, we are proud to highlight our commitment to fostering media and information literacy through two major initiatives:

  1. IV MeLCi Lab Autumn School – “Science Bootcamp to Boost Your Research Hands-On Skills”
This intensive workshop, held from October 28 to 31, provided hands-on training to enhance essential research skills. Hosted by the MeLCi Lab, it aimed at equipping participants with practical tools for research, critical analysis, and media literacy to empower students and professionals in their academic and professional pursuits.
  2. YouNDigital Project – “Jovens, Notícias e Cidadania Digital”
The YouNDigital project (ref. PTDC/COM-OUT/0243/2021, DOI 10.54499/PTDC/COM-OUT/0243/2021) addresses the pressing need for youth engagement in digital citizenship and news literacy. It explores the intersection between young people, news engagement, and digital citizenship, aiming to cultivate informed and active participation in the digital public sphere.
