MeLCi Lab Researcher Publishes on Collaborative Journalism in Latin America

Lucia Mesquita, a researcher at the Media Literacy and Civic Cultures Lab (MeLCi Lab), co-authored the article “Collaborative journalism and cross-border collaborations for newsafety”, published in Journalism (SAGE Journals).

The study examines how cross-border and collaborative journalism enhances safety and solidarity among reporters in Latin America, addressing risks in contexts of political instability and digital threats. Drawing on surveys and interviews with journalists from 15 countries, it highlights the critical role of collaboration in fostering resilience through legal, digital, physical, and psychological support.
