MeLCi Lab Member Co-Edits Special Issue of Rotura on Biographical Narratives and Digital Media Literacy

Selma Pereira, a member of the MeLCi Lab, co-edited the latest special issue of Rotura – Journal of Communication, Culture and Arts, titled Biographical Narratives and Digital Media Literacy in Arts and Society, alongside Ana Fernandes-Marcos.

The issue explores how personal stories, cultural memory, and digital literacy intersect to foster critical thinking, inclusion, and creative expression in digital environments. Highlights include:

  • Individual testimonies and collective memory

  • Digital art as moving memory

  • Urban counter-narratives and inclusive citizenship

  • Digital literacy in design and arts projects

  • Interactivity in digital arts

  • Cinema as cultural resistance in Brazil

This edition reinforces the role of biographical storytelling as a powerful bridge between the real and the digital, the individual and the collective.
