The first Inspiring Readings Session brings researchers together at MeLCi Lab
MeLCi Lab recently launched the first edition of its new Inspiring Readings Sessions initiative, creating an informal yet focused space for researchers to exchange ideas, discuss shared interests, and engage with key literature in the field. The inaugural session welcomed Stina Bengtsson from Södertörn University and brought together researchers from CICANT and beyond for an afternoon of discussion and reflection.
The session centred on the article “Be Less of a Slave to the News”: A Text-Material Perspective on News Avoidance among Young Adults, selected by Bengtsson in connection with her own research interests. Beyond discussing the article’s conceptual and methodological contributions, participants also shared their ongoing projects and explored connections across different research areas, reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the initiative.
As the first session of its kind at MeLCi Lab, the event marks the beginning of what is intended to become a recurring space for intellectual exchange and research dialogue. Researchers and students are encouraged to keep an eye on future calls and announcements, as new rounds of the Inspiring Readings Sessions are expected to return next semester.
