1st Edition of the Community of Practice Takes Place in Porto on July 23
The first edition of the Community of Practice will be held on July 23 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Universidade Lusófona —Porto University Centre (Room 0.5).
The concept of a Community of Practice, developed in the 1990s, revolves around a group of people (the community) who come together to discuss ideas and share knowledge based on their interests, methods, and experiences (the practices). This initiative aims to bring together researchers working in the field of literacies to foster the sharing of experiences and the creation of synergies and collaborations.
During the event, several projects targeting different audiences will be presented:

Children and journalism, by Ana Cátia Ferreira (Fernando Pessoa University)

Youth and climate action, by Daniela Ferreira da Silva (University of Minho)

Seniors and disinformation, by Claudilene Perim (Universidade Lusófona – Lisbon University Centre)

People with disabilities, accessibility, and board games, by Carla Sousa and Cátia Casimiro (Universidade Lusófona – Lisbon University Centre)
Although this is a free event, prior registration is required via this form until 21st July. Attendance is limited to the room’s capacity. This edition is linked to the PhD Program in Communication and Activisms (Universidade Lusófona – Porto University Centre) and MeLCi Lab – Media Literacy and Civic Cultures Lab.
The event will be held in person and in Portuguese.

A 1.ª edição da Comunidade de Práticas terá lugar no dia 23 de julho, entre as 10h e as 12h30, na Universidade Lusófona – Centro Universitário do Porto (sala 0.5).
O conceito de Comunidade de Práticas, desenvolvido nos anos 90, gira em torno de um grupo de pessoas (a comunidade) que se reúne para debater ideias e conhecimentos a partir dos seus interesses, métodos e experiências (as práticas). Esta iniciativa tem como objetivo reunir investigadores(as) nas áreas das literacias para potenciar a partilha de experiências e a criação de sinergias e colaborações.
