Call for submissions open for ARTeFACTo 2026 conference in Beja

The international call for submissions is now open for ARTeFACTo 2026 Beja, the 5th edition of the International Conference on Digital Creation in Arts, Media and Technology. The event will take place in Beja, Portugal, bringing together researchers, artists, and practitioners working across digital creation, media arts, and emerging technologies.

Selma Pereira, a member of the MeLCi Lab, serves as President of the International Scientific and Art Committee, reinforcing the Lab’s active role in international research and artistic networks.

Under the theme “Expanded (A)udiovisual (I)ntelligence,” the conference invites critical engagement with the evolving intersections of audiovisual practices, intelligence, and digital media. The event aims to create a shared space for discussion, experimentation, and exchange across disciplines, focusing on the design, creation, and societal impact of digital artefacts and media practices.

ARTeFACTo 2026 welcomes both scientific papers and artistic works, encouraging interdisciplinary and innovative approaches in the fields of digital arts, media, and contemporary culture. The programme will include academic presentations, exhibitions, performances, and thematic sessions, fostering dialogue between theory and practice.

The submission deadline is 20 July 2026, with the conference scheduled for 25 to 27 November 2026.
