Conheça nossa equipa: Teresa Sofia Castro

Teresa Sofia Castro is a researcher and Professor at Lusófona University (CICANT). In 2022, she won an individual CEEC (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia-FCT) with the project i-Tech families: empowering parents and children for a digital future and presently she is the Co-Pi in the project “Youth, News and Digital Citizenship” – YouNDIgital (funded by FCT). She has experience doing research with children and families with different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, and settings. Between 2017-2022 she developed her Post-Doc research (funded by FCT), iTec Families in the Communication Sciences – Media and Cultural Studies. She holds a European PhD in Sciences of Education, Educational Technology (funded by FCT). She holds a Master’s in Childhood Studies, specialization: Information and Communication Technologies, and has a degree in Philosophy and Humanities.

Her research and teaching trajectory brings together her focus on children’s digital lives, digital parenting, online risks, digital citizenship and digital competencies. Some of her research outputs inspired the production of ludic-pedagogical resources to help scaffold digital literacies, stimulating an intergenerational approach.
