Lusófona University Hosts Media Literacy and Journalism Seminar

With support from the YouNDigital project team, Lusófona University (Porto University Center) and CICANT held the Media Literacy and Journalism Seminar on November 8–9, organised by the Media Literacy and Journalism Association (ALPMJ) and CENJOR.

The event trained journalists and educators in media literacy. Our lab’s member, Maria José Brites, contributed by leading sessions on digital citizenship, and researchers Margarida Maneta, Lúcia Mesquita, and Mariana Scalabrin Müller are also part of the ALPMJ trainers.

A highlight of the seminar was the keynote speech by researcher David Buckingham, emeritus professor at Loughborough University and visiting professor at King’s College London. Buckingham gave the audience insights into the evolving role of media literacy and Artificial Intelligence.
