The MeLCi Lab is pleased to announce the integration of a new member and collaborator, reinforcing its interdisciplinary and international research profile.
Marisa Mourão joins the Lab as an integrated researcher at CICANT. She is an Invited Assistant at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro and holds a PhD in Communication Sciences from the University of Minho, with a dissertation focused on media and information literacy in the Portuguese school context. Her research centres on media and citizenship, particularly media education, media literacy, and children and media.
She is currently co-coordinator of the Working Group on Communication and Education of Sopcom and serves as Communication Officer of the Children, Youth and Media Section of ECREA. She previously coordinated the Young Researchers Working Group at Sopcom and served as director of Revista Comunicando (2024–2026).
The Lab also welcomes Arthur Fachini as a new collaborator. He is a PhD student in Interdisciplinary Studies on Women, Gender, and Feminism at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), holding a Master’s degree in the same field. He also holds a postgraduate degree in Marketing and Digital Media from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Universidade de Ribeirão Preto (UNAERP).
Arthur has been awarded scholarships from the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado da Bahia (FAPESB) for both his Master’s (2020–2022) and current PhD (2024–present), and is a recipient of a CAPES PDSE scholarship supporting an international mobility period at Universidade Lusófona, Porto. His research focuses on equity efforts, feminist studies, global movements, and alliances.
