NewsArcade offers teacher training on news literacy and gamified learning

Universidade Lusófona is running two accredited online training courses this October that explore news literacy and gamified learning approaches. Organised as part of the European project NewsArcade – Seriously Play the News in the Classroom! (101186092), the courses are aimed at teachers across subject areas, school librarians, trainee teachers and other interested participants.

The training offers practical strategies to help educators support students in critically evaluating news sources, recognising disinformation and engaging with the digital information environment.

The programme comprises two short courses:

• News literacy in secondary education: critical and applied approaches — 7 and 14 October 2026.
• Gamified approaches to news literacy — 21 and 28 October 2026.

Sessions take place online, from 18:00 to 21:00 (Lisbon time). Both courses are free of charge, certified by Universidade Lusófona, and require registration.
