Online Roundtable to mark the International Easy Language Day

To celebrate the International Easy Language Day, MeLCi Lab (Media Literacy and Civic Cultures Lab) and GLOW, in partnership with ELIN (Easy Language International Network)  will be hosting an online roundtable via Zoom on May 28th at 02:00 p.m. (UTC+1). The roundtable will explore the role of Easy Language in scientific research.

The event will be chaired by Cátia Casimiro, a PhD student of Communication Sciences at Lusófona University, Portugal and moderated by Dr Carlo Eugeni, an Associate Professor at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. Both are members of the Easy Language International Network, an international group of academics and service user groups interested in accessible language / easy read material / easy language primarily designed for people with intellectual disabilities.

The roundtable will be divided into two parts:

Part 1 – Using easy language to involve people with intellectual disability in research – from involvement to co-production

Part 2 – Using easy language to share research findings with different audiences

Anyone can participate in the roundtable. The participation on the roundtable is free and no registration will be necessary.
