Professor Oscar Westlund to Visit Lusófona University – Porto Campus

The Centre for Research in Applied Communication, Culture, and New Technologies (CICANT), the MeLCi Lab, the YouNDigital project, and the AI-Literate project at Lusófona University are pleased to announce the visit of Professor Oscar Westlund to Lusófona University’s Porto Campus.

Oscar Westlund is a professor at Oslo Metropolitan University, where he co-leads the OsloMet Digital Journalism Research Group. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the leading academic journal Digital Journalism.

During his stay, Professor Westlund will engage in a series of meetings and workshops with Lusófona researchers and guests, aiming to foster dialogue on research, academic publishing, and future collaborations.

A highlight of the visit will take place on 21 October 2025, with a full-day event open to Lusófona researchers, CICANT and MeLCi Lab members, and the broader academic community, including Portuguese partner institutions and affiliated projects.
