Selma Pereira exhibits textile-digital sculptures in Berlin, London, and Barcelona
MeLCi Lab researcher Selma Pereira is showcasing works from her series “Textile Masks: The Fabric of Identity” in three international art exhibitions this June, affirming her growing presence in the global contemporary art scene.
The series explores the mask as a symbolic artifact, positioned at the intersection of identity and otherness. Through ten textile and digital sculptures, Pereira delves into the fluid, layered nature of the self, shaped by memory, experience, and cultural heritage. Each mask blurs the boundary between object and skin, suggesting protection and exposure, and invites reflection on the emotional textures of contemporary identity.
