Selma Pereira Showcases Research and Curatorial Work Across Three International Events

MeLCi Lab member Selma Pereira is participating in several international academic and artistic initiatives this month, highlighting her ongoing work at the intersection of digital media art, cultural diversity, and post-digital aesthetics.

At the 12th International Conference ARTECH 2025 – Media Art Cultures, Communities & Territories (Braga, 26–28 November 2025), Selma will present the paper “On the path of digital media art dimensions in Macau biographical narratives: a perspective in the light of cultural diversity.” The work is co-authored with Ricardo Alexino Ferreira (USP, Brazil) and Adérito Fernandes-Marcos (USJ, Macau), contributing to the conference’s thematic focus on digital art, communities, and local/global territories.

Selma is also co-curator, with Adérito Fernandes-Marcos, of the online exhibition Transient Info, part of the official programme of The Wrong Biennale 2025–2026 (1 November 2025–31 March 2026). The exhibition presents works by 31 artists from more than 15 countries, exploring media art, materiality, and post-digital aesthetics.

Additionally, at the 15th FORGES Conference (13 November 2025, online), Selma and Adérito Fernandes-Marcos presented the paper “The importance of scientific publications in the Portuguese language in Portugal and Brazil: a critical analysis in light of the growing hegemony of the English language.” The conference focused on strengthening scientific research in Portuguese across global academic contexts.
