YouNDigital Final Conference Featured on Universidade Lusófona’s Website

The final conference of the YouNDigital – Youth, News and Digital Citizenship project, recently featured on the Universidade Lusófona website, took place on March 26–27 at the Universidade Lusófona – Centro Universitário in Porto. The event brought together national and international researchers, project consultants, and invited experts to discuss youth news consumption and digital citizenship.
The conference was organized by YouNDigital PI, the coordinator of the MeLCi Lab, Maria José Brites, the project’s coordinator, Teresa Sofia Castro, and member Margarida Maneta. It opened with the presentation of a national survey of 1,362 young people aged 15–24, followed by in-depth discussions on youth engagement with news, datafication, and civic participation. International speakers included Lynn Schofield Clark, Irene Costera Meijer, Nick Newman, and Marcel Broersma.
FCT funds the YouNDigital project, which was recently extended through the end of 2025.
