AI-Literate: Upskilling Higher Education in the Age of Generative AI and Disinformation
Implemented across Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Poland, and Belgium, the Erasmus+ AI-LITERATE project (Project Number: 2025-1-PL01-KA220-HED-000357941) aims to strengthen AI literacy by enhancing understanding of ethical AI usage, bias detection, and academic integrity. The project investigates how GenAI contributes to the spread of disinformation through empirical research, case studies, and participatory activities, while identifying effective strategies to counter AI-generated misinformation. It also examines the broader impact of GenAI on higher education, from teaching methodologies to learning outcomes, and supports the evidence-based integration of AI tools in academic contexts.
The project coordinated by Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, counts on Lusófona University leading the WP2, on needs assessment, which also counts with Demagog, responsible for the monitoring and collection of AI-generated disinformation, DataNinja and UNIMORE, leading WP3, which is responsible for developing the project’s course, Alegbra University, responsible for the Bootcamp on content creation with AI, and Media & Learning Association, responsible for the communication and dissemination of the project.
