New Publication Alert: MeLCi Lab Co-Coordinator Contributes to Assistive Technology Research

Carla Sousa, a member and co-coordinator of MeLCi Lab, is one of the co-authors of the recently published article “The Use of Assistive Technology to Promote Practical Skills in Persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities: A Systematic Review” in Digital Health.
This systematic review critically examines 18 studies to assess how assistive technologies (ATs) enhance social participation, daily living skills, and independence for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or intellectual disabilities (ID). The article explores the potential of tools such as mobile applications, virtual reality, and interactive software to empower users while addressing the challenges and gaps in current research.
