New Publication by MeLCi Lab Members on Older Adults and Digital Practices

We are pleased to share that MeLCi Lab members Margarida Maneta and Maria José Brites have published a new paper titled “Portuguese Older People and Digital Practices: Insights into Participatory Methodologies” as part of the Human Aspects of IT for the Aged Population track at the International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (HCII 2025).

Published in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series (LNCS, volume 15809, Springer Nature), the paper reflects on the development of digital skills workshops for older adults in Portugal. It proposes a participatory methodology that positions seniors as co-creators of the sessions, emphasising dialogue, real-life examples, and critical reflection to understand their relationships with digital media better.
