Researching Digital Feminist Activism
Kaitlynn Mendes, PhD is a sociologist whose work cuts across media, education, gender studies, and politics. As author of over 50 publications including SlutWalk: Feminism Activism and Media (2015) and Digital Feminist Activism: Girls and Women Fight Back Against Rape Culture (2019), she is an expert on feminist activism, rape culture, and digital technologies. With ever-increasing technological developments, and sexual violence rapidly taking on new forms, Dr. Mendes’ research helps prepare young people for their digital futures. She works with a range of stakeholders to develop resources for schools to tackle this issue through relationship and sex education curriculum, school policies, and legal reform.
