Researching media: Challenges from a gender and intersectionality perspective

Biographical note

Marian Blanco Ruiz is an Assistant Professor of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC). PhD in Media Research (2018, Cum Laude, International Mention, UC3M). Her lines of research focus on Gender Studies, analysis of gender representations in the media, gender violence, and new technologies. She has participated in national and international research projects, currently being part of the Core Group for her role as head of communication and Management Committee of the COST Making Young Researchers’ Voices Heard for Gender Equality (2021-2025), teaching innovation and consultancy and research projects related to the gender perspective, communication, and gender violence. She is secretary of the journal “Comunicación y Género” (UCM), of the EUFEM Platform and AUVIM.
